It is not a bird native from Barcelona.The Monk Parakeet (Miopsitta Monachus), also known as Quaker Parrot first appeared in Barcelona in 1975. They come from captive specimens that escaped or were freed by their owners. Currently, in Barcelona, there is a noisy colony of more than 2,000 birds.
