BRUCE GILDEN IN BARCELONA’S TRAFIC09

I had also seen his popular video showing him photographing in the streets of his city using his particular technique. The people who have seen might end up with the impression that Gilden is aggressive, rude and impolite.

In fact is quite the opposite, Bruce is a charming person, very outgoing and with a great sense of humour, besides being a formidable photographer.

In the presentation I explained that I Gilden always followed the advice of Robert Capa: "If your pictures are not good enough, you were not close enough", to which Bruce now adds: "The older I get, the closer I get."
Bruce Gilden projected his recent work on the drama of
the foreclosures and sub-prime mortgages in Florida and Detroit. He combines video, live sound and photos, a trend that must be taken into account. I was deeply impressed and is the best visual testimony I've seen about the terrible consequences of the crisis on a great part of the U.S. population.
